Desi Tadka

Living in the DC Area provides us with a wide variety of foods! One of those that we love is Indian food! When we tried this aromatic treasure in Delaware, we were not disappointed!!! The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful! Looking forward eating here again when we get back to Delaware!!!

Desi Tadka is a great place for delicious Indian food. The staff is friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome. We loved the chicken pakora, chicken curry, chicken tikka masala and fresh garlic naan. The food was full of flavor and came in big portions. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to visit again!

I had fish Tandoori tonight with garlic naan. It was pretty delicious! To find a quality Indian food around here is amazing!! I will be back soon.

Visiting family in Delaware and we tried Desi, which was a phenomenal surprise. The food was absolutely delicious with ample servings (great deal price wise). We got a few different things to share amongst one another and each one was stellar. The paneer tasted freshly made and just melted in your mouth. The Dal Makhani was the star of our meal, with a mouth watering sauce.

Finally, Indian food comes to downtown Delaware! Recently opened 10Nov23, we tried it out tonight. We were BLOWN AWAY!! The place was packed, it smelled amazing & everyone looked happy & satisfied. For apps-we tried the veggie pakora: well seasoned, fried to perfection, fresh without being heavy, clumpy or greasy. The veggie samosas were just as delicious. Tamarind & mint chutney spot on & fresh. Last app wast the chicken 65-aromatic, fresh chicken chunks, spiced just right. Yummy Mains: Malai Tikka was tender, fresh, addictive. Wifey gave it 2 thumbs up. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, buttery, fragrant with juicy large chicken breast chunks. The sauce was amazing and not runny. Winner winner We shared the veggie Hakka noodles. That tasted great as well. The basmati rice included was served in large portions, fluffy, soft, seasoned perfectly. The naan was fresh out of the tandoori. Fluffy, tasty. Perfect for mopping up the masala sauce The owner said the liquor permit should be ready in a week. My expectations were low because of the location, but we were absolutely amazed. Our new go to for Indian food. You must try. Simple decor, attentive service reasonable prices and good portions.

First visit and I loved it and learned from it. What could be better? I went with a friend who had been once before, but far from and an expert in Indian food. Both of us were feeling adventurous so we shared plates. I wish I could tell you the exact names of the dishes, but I cannot. I loved the cauliflower appetizer. And same with the lamb entree. I did discover that I’m not really a fan of paneer - but that’s on me. It’s a texture thing, but I did like how it was prepared. I’m assuming she was one of the owners, but whoever she was (not our actual server) helped us with our order and answered all our questions. When I’m in a restaurant with a cuisine that is unfamiliar I do prefer a picture menu. But this text only, point and hope method of ordering worked out pretty well for us!

I got the lunch box special that comes with two mains and rice and naan and a side of samosa. I really liked the samosa and all the sauces that come with it. You are also able to choose the level of spice you want with your mains which I appreciated. The server checked on us many times and was very kind. Would definately reccomend.

We were in town for a soccer game and stopped in for a Mother's Day dinner. What am amazing surprise! The food was great. The favorite was chicken tikka masala, samosas, garlic naan, and the spicy cauliflower appetizer. Great selection of Indian beer, including Taj Mahal and King Fisher. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We will go back anytime we are in Delaware!
